I started participating in running when I was 2 years old racing in the kids fun runs when my mom was running the 5k. I finished my first 5k on my own when I was 6 years old, and I have been running ever since. I really enjoy triathlons, because I get to swim, bike, and run which are three of my favorite fitness activities. I am excited to be a part of the ROAR Team to promote healthy lifestyles and to help spread the word about how great Fusion Footwear is. I am also excited to volunteer in the community.

I started running when I was in first grade with the kids running club at Oaklawn school, which is now the kids running crew that we all know. I kept going back to kids crew because it was fun and I got to meet new people every time I went, and have been running with the group ever since then and keep working on improving myself. This spring I ran my longest distance ever by running as part of a team in a half marathon relay at the 2023 Oshkosh Half Marathon, Relay, and 5k and look forward to keep growing as a runner and improving on my time and distance that I run. I am excited to be a part of Team ROAR because I am always energetic and want to continue to be active and help inspire others to also be active in their lives.

Kyle Burlingame
Even as a child, running has been a large part of my life. I followed my cousin’s footsteps in taking it up competitively in the quest for becoming the fastest version of myself. I will never give up on that journey. My close friends and family are my foundation and provide motivation to push me through whatever life throws my way. The Chicago Cubs are my favorite sports team and I have a slight obsession with watching golf.

I have been active my whole life in various sports but fell in love with running in college. I continue to run as a way to clear my head and focus on pushing myself further. I enjoy being surrounded by my network of friends who also share the same passion and where we continue to motivate and inspire each other. Now as mom of three little kiddos, I want to be an example of a healthy lifestyle and hopefully spark their love for it too. I currently serve as a running buddy for Kids Crew, and love that my daughter Eloise participates with me.
2 Truths & 1 Lie:
Kimberley Zeller
I started walking a few miles, a couple of times a week, after the birth of my second child, which was 19 years ago. I had my third child in less than two years, and I was determined to lose weight.
Walking was now simple. I was walking 4-6 miles each time instead of the usual two. I decided to try running after a friend encouraged me. Soon, I bought my first road bike, started weight lifting and signed up for my first 5K. My path to fitness hasn't always been smooth; there have been moments I've waxed and waned, but I'm committed to raising my six children in a home that is safe, healthy, and physically active.

I like to think I have been active all my life, but it wasn't until after joining the military that I really began to truly exercise and run. After finishing my 4-year active Army career, I kept up on my running as a way to stay fit along with bicycling on the country roads during the summer months with a very old and heavy Schwinn bike. In college, I learned to play racquetball in between my studies. When Theresa and I lived outside Lansing, Michigan, we both participated in slow-pitch softball leagues. Currently, I enjoy a variety of activities to stay fit. The Fall 50 in Door County and the Sole Burner in Appleton are both events like doing with others. I am most proud of the Waupaca Triathlon, where it combines my love of cycling and running with my toughest discipline in swimming.
2 Truths & 1 Lie:
Sam Hickey
When I was born I couldn’t walk, and as I grew the growing pains I experienced caused aches and pains in my knees and hips. If someone asked me to go for a run, they were met with dirty looks. Like the scene in Forrest Gump where he breaks free of his braces and runs like the wind, I took inspiration from my mom, joined her on a 10k and never looked back. Adrenaline and perseverance drove away the pains (mostly) and quickly I found running to be a nice mental escape from the weight of life’s responsibilities. Now I run like the wind… or maybe more a light slow breeze. I have found and maintained many friendships through running and it’s an important part of my identity. Keeping alive the tradition of passing down to the next generation, I’m gradually bringing my two boys into the fore and my 6 year old is set for his first 5k with pdsF.U.S.I.O.N Kids Crew. There are a lot of cliches about running and families but I try to keep it simple… a family that runs together stays together, and that includes the friends and running community I have grown to consider family. In the end I don’t run for the show or for awards or for anything other than the pure joy of challenging myself every day and wanting to instill and share that passion with everyone in my life, encouraging them to also strive for greatness of their own. 2 Truths & 1 Lie:
Corey Zeller
Before finding a passion for running and cycling well into adulthood, I mainly enjoyed weightlifting and organized sports. To compete in an Ironman triathlon, I tried adding swimming. Although I completed the race, I realized that I am not passionate about swimming. My wife, Kimberley, is also part of the ROAR Team, and we have six children ranging in age from 4 to 20 years old. By day, I am a weight loss and lifestyle medicine physician. Lifestyle medicine is the use of evidence-based lifestyle interventions - including regular physical activity, nutrition, restorative sleep, stress management, avoidance of risky substances, and social connection – as a primary modality to prevent, treat, and often reverse chronic disease. I am excited to be part of the ROAR Team supporting Fusion’s core values and helping enhance the local fitness community.
2 Truths & 1 Lie:
Sheila Semenas
I have been on the go since I was a child. In grade school I was on the cheerleading squad. In high school I cheered for football, and played on the basketball and softball teams. As a young adult, I played racquetball, tennis, and became certified to teach aerobic classes. Coaching 4 middle school sports for many years kept me motivated to stay healthy and be a good role model to the next generation.. I began running about 15 years ago. It was very therapeutic for me at the time. I’ve done numerous 5K’s, 10k”s and half marathons. With the addition of cycling, I am hoping to maintain my good health (mind and body) so that I can live a longer life and be there for my grandkids. My favorite race event is “Disneyland Paris Half Marathon” that I ran with my daughter Liz, in 2017. I retired from teaching science at Omro Middle School earlier that year, and I knew that I needed a huge distraction when school started again in the fall. I signed up for the “Castle to Chateau Challenge” in June and planned our trip to Paris and London the next day. Disney is truly a magical place to run. The scenery was beautiful, and being around thousands of people from all over the world was amazing. We completed the challenge six weeks later at Disneyland in California. Sharing this experience with her is one of my most treasured memories.
2 Truths & 1 Lie:
Rhonda Schmidt
A coworker challenged me to raise money for Leukemia research, which involved running a marathon in Alaska.
I asked if I could walk it, but as I started running, I ran the entire race. My favorite races are the Best
Friends of Neenah/Menasha Gourmet Bike Tour and Backdraft Bike Tour.
A number of years ago my chiropractor advised me I should stop running and take up another
activity to give my hips a break. I took up cycling and began working on the muscles around my
hips. After becoming acquainted with Fusion I began running again and with proper strengthening
and Shoes I am back to running again!
